All mixed up

My children are biracial… <gasp>… but in Japan they like to stick the name “half” on them -as in half something half Japanese. They, however, only use the word “half” making it sound like ‘the child is not all there’ (which is often true for DD1), or that I really only have one child since my two “halves” make a “whole”.

DH and I tend to call them “mixed” (even though this is true of ALL children) and obviously this word has stuck, particularly with DD1. The other day she said she was “all mixed up”.
